Woman jailed for life: sister murdered and Rolex stolen

  • Nancy Pexton received a life sentence for killing her sister and stealing a Rolex.
  • The victim was found dead in her London flat after a brutal stabbing attack.
  • Evidence revealed the killer acted out of jealousy regarding her sister’s financial security.

A 70 year old woman named Nancy Pexton has been sentenced to life in prison. She was convicted of murdering her sister, Jennifer Abbott, in a London flat. The judge set a minimum term of 22 years for this crime. The victim was a 69 year old film director.

The attack occurred on 10 June last year. Pexton arrived at the Camden property at 12.45pm and left one hour later. Jennifer Abbott had been seen returning from walking her corgi at 7.36am. Pexton stabbed her sister 10 times during the violent encounter.

The body was found three days later on the living room floor. A neighbor broke down the door using a scaffolding pole. The victim was partially naked with gaffer tape over her mouth. This act was described by the judge as cruel and demeaning.

Pexton stole a gold Rolex watch that the victim always wore. Police later found the jewelry in Pexton’s bag at a hospital. The killer claimed she was only looking after the watch. The judge noted jealousy over financial security as a primary motive.

Following the murder, Pexton reported a fake overdose to her doctor. She was arrested on 18 June. The court heard about bubbling resentment and hostility between the sisters. Judge Dhir stated that the killer showed no remorse for her actions.
