Kylian Mbappe has been awarded €60 million in a legal ruling against Paris St-Germain

A French court has mandated that Paris St-Germain pay Kylian Mbappe 60 million euros in outstanding compensation. The ruling addresses unpaid wages, bonuses, and other contractual obligations owed to the player during his final months with the club.

Mbappe’s legal team pursued a significantly larger claim of 263 million euros through the Paris labour court proceedings that began in November. This amount encompassed 55 million euros in unpaid salaries alongside additional damages related to contract violations and alleged mistreatment by the organization.

The court’s decision recognizes that PSG failed to remit three months of salary between April and June 2024. The judgment also confirms non-payment of an ethics bonus and a signing bonus stipulated under Mbappe’s employment contract, validating key aspects of his complaint.

PSG initiated counter-proceedings seeking 240 million euros from the striker, claiming damages stemming from a failed 300 million euro transfer arrangement to Saudi club Al-Hilal in 2023. That proposed move ultimately did not materialize, and the club pursued financial recompense based on this unsuccessful transaction.

Following his departure from PSG, Mbappe transitioned to Real Madrid as a free agent during the subsequent summer transfer window. His legal representative expressed satisfaction with the court’s determination, emphasizing that the ruling appropriately addresses unpaid compensation owed throughout the contractual dispute.
