Roman Lavrynovych and Stanislav Carpiuc were jailed at the Old Bailey. Lavrynovych received seven years and Carpiuc got two years for conspiring to commit arson on a car and two properties. These targets had connections to the prime minister.
An anonymous figure named El Money used Telegram to recruit them. Lavrynovych was offered payment to ignite fires and record the events. The goal was to ensure the attacks reached the news during the operation.
Roman Lavrynovych and Stanislav Carpiuc committed targeted arson
On 8 May 2025 a Toyota Rav4 was burned. Another fire hit a north London door on 11 May. Then on 12 May a fire broke out at a former home in Kentish Town where family lived.
Mr Justice Garnham called Lavrynovych a pawn who was easily bought. He noted that the man was utterly reckless about the risk you were creating and ignored that the premises were residential.

Shahid Rashid explained that Carpiuc functioned as the money man. His role was to realise the cryptocurrency to help a friend. This friend needed money for a father’s medical treatment.
