- Adam Hall received a life sentence for intentionally infecting seven men with HIV.
- The convict targeted vulnerable young men through bars and a dating app.
- Police believe more victims exist across England and encourage them to come forward.
Adam Hall, aged 43, has been sentenced to life in prison. He is only the second person in the UK convicted of intentionally spreading the HIV virus. The judge ordered that he must serve a minimum of 23 years and 42 days before parole.
The man from Washington, Tyne and Wear, is described as a calculating and callous sexual predator. Between 2016 and 2023, he engaged in unprotected sex without disclosing his positive status. Hall had been diagnosed with the virus in 2010 and used medication.
The court heard that Hall targeted sexually inexperienced men via Grindr or bars. He infected seven men, and four of those victims were raped. One victim was just 15 years old, while others were in their late teens or early 20s.
Victims described the devastating emotional impact of the crimes. One survivor felt like a shell of his former self. Another noted that his family now lives in fear. These men were often naive, vulnerable, or seeking love and compassion.

He showed no remorse and falsely suggested some victims wanted the virus. He even refused to leave his cell to attend his own sentencing hearing in court.
Investigators believe there are more victims across England. Hall travelled to London, Manchester, and various parts of Yorkshire and Durham to meet men. Health services are offering support to anyone concerned about previous contact with the convict.
