Trump claims a US-UK trade deal might change due to poor bilateral relations

  • Donald Trump warned that the US-UK trade agreement could be modified in the future.
  • US military actions in Iran have caused significant economic tensions between the two nations.
  • Keir Starmer is shifting focus toward the EU due to US instability and volatility.

Donald Trump has claimed that the special relationship is in a sad state. He specifically mentioned that the trade deal signed last May could be altered. This agreement previously reduced tariffs on steel, aluminium, and cars, which Trump described as being more generous than necessary.

The US president believes the UK failed to provide support during the Iran conflict when it was needed. He criticized Keir Starmer for policies regarding immigration and the closure of North Sea oil. Trump argued these decisions are destroying the country and causing high energy costs.

British officials remain angry over the economic fallout from US strikes in Iran. Chancellor Rachel Reeves expressed frustration over a lack of clear objectives. Prime Minister Starmer stated he is fed up with the resulting rise in energy bills for British families.
